Wild Horse CRM

The KCCD is providing cost share funding to a rancher involved in the Wild Horse CRM to improve springs on both WDFW and WDNR lands involved in the grazing plan. Yesterday was spent visiting several of the sites with WDFW and Yakama Nation. The tribal members from the Yakama Nation conducted Traditional Cultural Property surveys of the sites.
It was my first visit to these sites. The proposed work is to upgrade these springs to NRCS standards, which mostly involves replacing some buried PVC lines and installing new tanks with hardened areas around them.
It is a bit early for all the wildflowers to be in bloom, but we did see a lot of buttercups. They are always a cheerful sign of spring.
